I found your postings over at Sparkpeople ...Hello! I found your postings over at Sparkpeople in the 'Low Fat Raw Vegan' team! I find you really inspiring, especially since you've come such a long way with your lifestyle and weight goals. I'm fairly new to the lifestyle myself and as a university student, don't exactly have the funding to buy the expensive equipment(like a dehydrator, juicer, etc) that a lot of the books I've read sort of imply you need to be truly raw. I noticed that on the Sparkpeople team you emphasized raw foods in their whole organic forms, what are your personal thoughts on dehydrating, juicing, sprouting, soaking nuts, and that sort of thing? How were you able to obtain your best weight loss? Personally, I'm very active and ate quite a lot of things that I'd always considered healthy, but haven't been able to resist cravings for sugary and caffeinated foods and beverages. Any tips? I also don't have my own place, and in effect, own kitchen to 'de-junk' and I'm finding that a huge struggle for me as I try to eat less processed foods.

Hope I haven't overwhelmed you with questions, you just seem so knowledgeable about the topic that I couldn't help myself. If you'd rather just email me a response my email is: magick7_@hotmail.com

Thank you! And I hope you don't get too stressed with your work! Take a moment to smell the roses and breathe. :)silent_cynichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14720421067879252419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4738616832467543349.post-38379283148019699162007-10-02T14:18:00.000-06:002007-10-02T14:18:00.000-06:00Hi Majorie.I really love your blog!I have been doi...Hi Majorie.

I really love your blog!

I have been doing a fair bit of research into a raw vegan diet and have decided to commit myself to s l o w l y transitioning to a raw vegan in the hopes that my body will achieve wellness.

I have a wee question for you.... do you worry about eating so many bananas and therefore absorbing too much potassium? Just curious as I had five bananas yesterday myself. ;-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4738616832467543349.post-34678609152163033912007-09-27T20:57:00.000-06:002007-09-27T20:57:00.000-06:00Thanks, Connie, but YOU'RE MY IDOL. Seriously. I'...Thanks, Connie, but YOU'RE MY IDOL. Seriously. I'm looking forward to the virtual picnic.

Hola Mercy!!! Nice to hear from you. I'll write you soon, but not in Spanish, because I don't remember enough. A practicar Ingles! :)

Welcome, Tippitappi. I do feed my kids raw vegan. However, they eat SAD fairly regularly outside our house. They like fruit and salad, but aren't committed to eating 100% healthy yet. I guide and encourage but don't force.

Raw vegan children will likely be smaller than average. This is mainly because the cow's milk other children consume is meant to grow a calf into a 1000 pound cow in a short time--lots of naturally-occuring growth hormone. Bigger isn't necessarily better--growth hormone is connected with cancer.

The round-cheeked chubby baby is more likely to be obese throughout life. (My babies were overweight... they were overweight at birth and I ate a much higher fat, non-vegan diet while I was nursing, so they were all quite fat babies. I didn't know better.)

So, don't think of your baby's smaller-than-average size as the main factor in her health. Is she active, happy, and meeting developmental milestones? If so, then she is likely a healthy weight, despite what our culture says.

Take care and thanks for visiting.

Marjoriegreenmama!https://www.blogger.com/profile/02696773592324306007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4738616832467543349.post-67908926531702973682007-09-27T14:27:00.000-06:002007-09-27T14:27:00.000-06:00I'm not a raw vegan but I have nothing against it,...I'm not a raw vegan but I have nothing against it, do you feed your children in the same way? just curious, my baby is almost vegan but a bit skinny compared to the pther children.
